Final Year Project
Project Title
SafeKarachi
Description
Safe Karachi aims to solve two major problems for daily commuters: scattered crime information and unsafe navigation. Currently, details about street crimes, protests, or road accidents are scattered across news channels and social media, making it very hard for the common man to stay updated. Traditional apps like Google Maps also only focus on finding the fastest route, completely ignoring neighborhood safety. This project solves this lack of safety concern by creating a user-powered platform where citizens can both report incidents and stay up-to-date in real time. AI was used to verify these crowdsourced reports and power a custom "crime-aware" navigation engine that balances travel time with personal security, providing users with safer optimized routes to avoid high-risk areas.
